COMMENT ON DERBY
(Australian Press Association.)
(Received this day at 10 a.m.)
SYDNEY, Nov. ' 3
Commenting on the Derby, the “Herald” says Balloon King’s win was thoroughly deserved. Taking charge entering the straight lie had too much reserve for Veilmond who considerably increased his task by running erratically over the last furlong, and twice impeding the progress of .Miss Arrow The only excuse for Veilinoml who was also beaten into second place in the Sydney Derby was that lie was not good enough. The winner, who was ridden excellently by Pike did not run a bad race in any of the classicals.
