A MAD DOG

ATTACKS GTRLS

(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, November 2. Two yong women were attacked by a mad Airedale dog at Paddington yesterday. So severely bitten was Myrtle Miller that her life is despaired of. The dog apparently was affected by a severe iteat, as in the past it had been perfectly docile. Tt first attacked Miss Stephen, aged 24, and hit her on the side and forearms. It then rushed at Miss Miller, aged 16, who was washing dishes, and bit her on the legs and thighs and arms, one wound requiring twenty stitches. Miss Miller certainly would have been killed but for the intervention of a man who caught the dog’s ears, twisting them violently and retaining a tenacious hold until the police arrived and shot the dog. Miss Miller was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
