NEW STEAMER SERVICE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 31

The arrival at Wellington of the Japanese motor ship, Brisbane Maru, from Australia to-morrow afternoon will mark the inauguration of a new cargo service between Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The Brisbane Marti is the first vessel to be used in the service. Site will be followed by the Melbourne Maru and Sydney Maru. The Brisbane Maru leaves Wellington on Monday night and sails from Auckland for Australia on Thursdav.

I ho Brisbane Maru is a comparatively new vessel. She has a displacement of 10,067 tons, is 380 feet in length, 55 feet in width and 34 foot in depth. She has a cargo capacity of 8700 tons.
