MADAME HANAU
TRIAL FOR FRAUD

PARIS, October 30
The trial of Madame Hanau, and four of her associates on the chaiges of fraud in connection with the “Gazette Du Franc” has begun. Two ifawyers, representing three thousand of the creditors, argued the claim for the re-examination of the accounts, Madam Hanau s case being that there is no deficit, and that if there is any, it arose out of the action of the police. The Public Prosecutor is having a hard fight for the continuation of the trial.
“Have 1 swindled anyone?” asked Madame Hanau. “No! You do not even say how much !” The trial was adjourned.
