SOLICITOR- GENERAL. j RUGBY, Oct. 22. Honourable Richard Stafford Oripps has Iben appointed Solicitor-General in succession to Sir James Melville, resigned. The new Solicitor-General who is r son of Lord Parmoor, Lord President of the Council, was called to the Bar in 1913, and became King’s Counsel three years ago. Sir Janies Melville resigned recently through ill health, and is at present on a sea voyage. MR SCULLIN.
