Rv Telegraph—Per Press Association.*
WELLINGTON, October 13
Entering through a small lavatory window at the back of the premises, thieves ransacked Maclvower MacBeath and Coy’s, warehouse in Victoria Street between 1 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. on Saturday. ‘lt seems likely from the thoroughness of the job that they spent a considerable time in the building. Particulars of the nature and extent of the stolen goods were not available last” nighty but iff; appears the roibbers made a good haul.
When they had forced the small window at the back they set out on. a systematic- examination, and: everything in the warehouse and its contents were lying l in confusion on the floor whafa the nightwatchman discovered wh«t Had .'happened. fPliie safe - was opened, although explosives were not used. All cheques were left behind. When, and for how long the thieves were in the building is a matter for conjecture.
