TRIBUTING THE DEAD.

LONDON, October 12. A year ago to-day the public first saw RlOl at the mooring mast, to which it was moored after completion. Thousands then arrived at Cardmgton to see the new wonder of the skies. To-day thousands were ngian visiting the spot but for a pilgrimage to the grave of R.lOl’s dead, who thus for the second time are lying in state in the still open grave, which workmen are slowly filling in. The cemetery has been closed, except to relatives. Air Force men are guarding the gate, but visitors descended in motors and charabancs with which the roads are black for miles and clustered in the neighbourhood paying reverence to the heroes.

Hundreds brought wreaths which were added to the three thousand already lying in the cemetery.
