CO-OPER ATI ON SU GGESTED. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association ROTORUA, September 19. A conferen e of the "White Stai Motor Services was held at Wairakoi and it terminated to-da.v. Thirt' motor companies throughout both Islands were represented at the banquet. The speakers strongly stressed the need of the motor services coordinating and co-operating with the Railway Department with a view tc their mutual advantage, by the eliminating of overlapping, and the saving of unnecessary train and moto’mileage.
Opinions were, expressed that the time was ripe for both the rail and road transporter,? to unite to avoid useless uneconomic competition. The new spirit shown in the railway management Was eulogised. An optimistic view was taken of the future of combined policy. Mr Jack Newman flying in his own machine from Wellington, to attend the motor conference, covered the distance in iust two hours, leaving at Wellington at 3 p,m, and landihg at Tauhara at 5 p.m.
