LIBERAL SUPPORT
FOR, BRITISH LABOUR. IJuited Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright]. . LONDON, August 28. The Socialist-Liberal Party conversations upon employment, have been resumed at Downing Street. Messrs Lloyd George, Snowden, and Henderson were included amongst those present at the conference. The position at the beginning was most difficult, as Mr Snowden intimated that the suggestions of the Lib era Is were unacceptable to the Tie.isury oil financial grounds. Mr Snmvden took the stand that lie was the Treasury’s watch-dog, and that it was all important to scrutinize possible expenditure in view of a possible budget deficit next year. It is understood that road schemes and agricultural plans', were discussed later, the final result being that Mr Lloyd George and his Liberal associates agreed to continue their co-operation with the Labour Party. Mr Snowden apparently relaxed his rigid attitude. Mr McDonald is most anxious to have Liberal co-operation throughout the autumn session. The result of the conversations is satisfactory to the Government.
