STOLEN FROM PASSENGER
(Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, August 19. Air H. Ballantyne,'a third-class passenger on the ALaunganui, has reported his loss of eight hundred scerling during the voyage between Wellington and Sydney. Detectives hoarded the vessel immediately she entered the harbour to-day, and questioned two men, who were detained. Mr Ballantyne, is a qunrrynian of the Napier district, New Zealand. He told the detectives that the money i»> presented his life’s savings. He also lost two swags. .:A VICTIM WAS DRUGGED BEFORE SAILING. SYDNEY. August 19. Regarding the Ballantyne robbery, the police are of the opinion that Ballantyne was drugged before lie joined the ALaunganui, as his fellow passengers say that lie was in a condition of stupor for three days after embarkation.
