PARLIAMENT
THE HOUSE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. In the House of Representatives yesterday the Coal Alines Amendment Bill (Air H. E. Holland) was introduced and read a. first time. The Finance Bill was considered in committee, read a third time, and passed. Only one amendment was made and it provided for the removal of the proposed amusement tax on Is Gel tickets. The Prime Alinister undertook to have an amendment inserted in the Legislative Council, limiting the operation of the section relating to the Highways Act till August 31st, 1931. He also stated a committee would be set up early next session to consider the apportionment of revenue from the -petrol tax. It must re-, main undisturbed at present, but he would agree to the restoration of eight per cent allocation to cities after Alarcli 31st next. The House rose at 3.35 a.m. till 2.30 p.m. to-day.
