Born Wellington, 1859, son of Geo. Hunter (Ist Alayor); Afayor, 1923; sheepfarining at Porangahaii, Hawke’s Bay; ALP. for Waipawa 1896-9; 1911 to date; gave £30,000 worth of land for soldier settlement; Waipawa County Council many years: President Council of Agriculture; Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club (life member) ; ex-President Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and tPasfcoral Association; prominent racing owner.
