TILDEN DEFAULTS TAKES EXCEPTION TO GALLERY ACTIONS. (United Press Association—By Electr* Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this dav at noon.) NEW YORK, Aug. 14. Tilden defaulted in the second set of the quarter final with Cliff Sutter at New Orleans eastern grass courts on Thursday, when lie took offence at the actions of the gallery. “I cannot stand this much longer” lie said to the umpire when several spectators laughed at his failure to win points. The umpire, Kalin, asked the crowd to be quiet but laughter continued. Tilden then walked to the net shaking hands with Sutter and defaulted. Tilden lost the first set 6—l, trailing love four love fifteen in the second.
