DR MORTON KILLED
RAILWAY GROSSING FATALITY. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) CARTERTON, August 7. A tragic accident occurred at Clareville level railway crossing this morning, when Doctor Frank Adrian Morton was killed instantly. He was going to. dull on a patient and apparently did not:see or hear the train approaching, till within a few feet of the line. The evidence shows he jammed on the brakes, but the car skidded in loose metal, and the engine caught the car in the middle and smashed it into an unrecognisable mass. Morton was thrown out on the other side of the cattle stop and killed instantly. He was a young man and had been practising in 'Carterton for two years.
He leaves a widow, Dr. Win Morton
