HONOURED BY CONSTITUENTS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, June 233. At Cheviot yesterday evening, a largely attended and enthusiastic social 1 was given in honour of the Prime Minister and Mrs Forbes. During the proceedings, one of the original , settlers, T. IT. Wilkinson, presented Mr Forbes, on behalf of the country residents, with an illuminated 'biress in which the goodwill of his constituents found expression. Mr Forbes, who has been member for the district for twenty two years, was given a remarkable reception. So great was the influx of visitors that accommodation in the township was at a premium, and some people had to use motor ears for resting places for the night.
