FOR THE AERO CLUBS

WELLINGTON, May 31

Details of insurance schemes for pilots and aeroplanes were placed before the Committee of the Dominion Aero Club to-day. The insurance for the personnel of the clubs is proposed as follows:—

Pilots with R.A.F. experience, death Q 1000; permanent total disablement limbs or two eyes, £1000; partial disablement, £500; temporary disablement, £6 per week for 52 weeks. The minimum rate is four and a half per ~evu 1 £45) per annum.

In connection with plane insurance Lloyd’s Company, it was stated, would insure planes if the following conditions were complied with:—Frst, that a governing body he formed in New Zealand, Lloyds to negotiate with the parent body only; second, adequate repair facilities to lie obtainable outside of Soekburn and Auckland, or in the alternative, the clubs to bear the expense and cost of transportation to a recognised repair centre. The proposals are to be discussed at the Aero Club’s Conference at Wellington next Saturday.
