- Giving evidence in the Munn case-,-Mavis “Leohie Munn, another .daughter of .filie accused, by hisj-first marHage..' stated that she was seventeen 1 : yeais of age, and she was at present living with her mother. While she was living at Northcote, Munn did not act towards his wife as he should. She was more like a person who worked for him. He spoke as if he was annoyed with his wife’. On one. occasion Munn chased his : wife from the front of-.the house into. her.'bedroom. He was calling out. Robert Rowan Bell, solicitor, said that he knew the late Mrs Munn, and had acted for the Munn family. On •December 24th last, his firm received n latter from Mrs Munn, in which she asked witness to prepare a will for her The will was prepared, and on January loth Mrs Munn signed it. The will left everything to her husband (tne - act u.such)., ■■■ ”v * Mr witness sh.id that in December last, just prior to Mrs' Munn making her will, the accused had iiis will made. The effect of it was that everything should be left to Mrs Munn. 1 THE MATRIMONIAL. ADVT. • Evelyn. Francis McGrath, adver tising clerk, employed by the “Auckland' Star,” said that on October 10th last year, a matrimonial advertisement was handed in to her. Three inseitions were requested by the man who handed in the advertisement. She could not remember the' man, but slie remembered asking him to insert words “View to matrimony,” in the advertisement. The advertisement wi» not signed when the man entered the office. “Munn, Northcote,” was signed at the corner, at witness’s reque t the respondent to the adyt Georgina. Alberta Emily Stuck, who answered Munn’s advertisement, was the next witness. He revidence was on the lines of Mr Meredith’s opening address, detailing how she met Munn and how, after Mrs Munn’s death, she went to his house, he having asK d her' to keep house for him. He sag gcsteel marriage, but she refused. The hearing was adjourned till tomorrow.
