Conflicting evidence as to whether me iron trellis exit gate was locked, or unlocked, was given at the trial at, Edinburgh of Charles Dorward, Manager of the Paisley Cinema i which twenty ohild|re/n perished in December of last year. Dorward was charged with culpable homicide. He gave evidence lie did not lock the gate ait fihe K performance. If . thd police found it locked somebody else must have locked it. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
