SUDDEN DEATH
OF SPIRITUALIST,

WELLINGTON, April 18
While attending the annual conference iof the Spiritualist Churdh of New Zealand, Mr John Ashton, of Dunedin, had a seizure, which resulted in his death a few minutes afterwards. The opening - session of the conference began at the Rechabite Chambers, Upper Willis Street, at 9.20 a.m. to-day, and Mr Ashton's death occurred shortly before noon. Mr Ashton arrived in Wellington on Thursday morning from the South and intended to make a holiday trip of his spell in the North, Island, He was 52 years of age. He lias a married daughter in Wellington, another daughter in Christchurch, and a son who is said to live at Dunsandel, Canterbury.
