HOKITIKA BOXING CLUB

The annual meeting was held on Thursday, 16th. April, in Keller's Rooms at 8 p.m. before a fair attend-

]n presenting the annual report, Mr McGregor briefly touched on the progress of the Club since its inauguration in October, 1928. The gymnasium was deeply indebted to Mr Furness’, untiring energy, and the success of his pupils both in local and Greymouth tournaments were' a criterion of his tuition. He also wished to thank the committee for their hearty co-opera-tion and intimated he was not again

seeking office. The election of officers resulted: Patron—Mr H. M. Coulson. President—Mr F. McGregor. Vice-Presidents—Messns J. J. Breeze and MG E. Williams. Secretary—Mr E. Best. Treasurer—Mr F. Ballinger. Cbm mi t tee—Messrs J. Turner, J. Stafford, J. Atkinson, J. Johnson, D. Powell, E. M r . Heenan, Official Instructor—Mr R, Furness. The members tickets were fixed at 11s and admit to all tourneys. Gymnasium fee, seniors £l, juniors 10s, Not to cover admission to tourneys.

New members elected were: Messrs M. McGavin, J. Keller, Win. Rowe and T. Preston. Votes of thanks were moved and carried to Dr Baird, Dr Hayes, Black Hand Orchestra, local press, and Mr M T . Keller (for use of rooms).

The matter of a tourney was held or pending the securing of the Theatre.
