BOWLING

The Hokitika Bowling Clu;b held a progressive pairs competition yesterday, five games being played, two in the morning and three in the afternoon. In the leads, Messrs Schultz and Thomson tied with four wins and in the skips Benjamin was successful with four wins. The green rolled out in capital order and the play generally proved very interesting and enjoyable.

The Hokitika bowling team had a good run through arriving at Nelson on Thursday night. Forty-six rinks are competing on four greens.

Hokitika (.T. Conning, T. W. Bruce, W. Wilson and D. Stevenson), played on Maitai green and lost to 'lves (Canterbury) and G'agliartli (Maitai) and beat MeWhionel <Haitaitai). Greymouth rinks' results:— Whiblev three wins. Mercer three wins. Brebner one win. Hokitika play on Nelson green today.
