It is understood Anglo-Egyptian treaty negotiations took an important turn at this morning's meeting. Naims presented comprehensive counter proposals to the Mahmoud draft treaty. It is believed they include a demand for dual control of Suez Canal. In other words that Egypt equally share protection canal with Britain. A further proposal is that Egypt virtually have sole occupation.

Neither the Foreign Office nor the Egyptian Legation offers the slightest comment.
