NOTED BOXER

A TRAGIC END

[Unitiyl. Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.]

WASHINGTON, March 5

Bartley Madden died to-night. He was penniless. He was en route to New York to meet his motherless son, after being unable to arrange a fight in the south.

Madden was a former well-known heavyweight. The only knock-out against him came at the hands o‘ Gene Tunnev. Madden fell from the Treasury Buildings here, while sightseeing, and was seriously injured, and he died later.
