TRIBUTES FROM' FARMERS
AUCKLAND, February 25. The wide and practical, knowledge of farming possessed by Lord BJedisloe. the new Governor-General of New Zealand, was referred to by leading members of the British farmers’ party winch arrived from England to-day-. “New Zealand is to be congraulated on acquiring its new Governor-General”
said Mr S. R. Whitley, who heads the delegation. “She is indeed fortunate in getting him, for he is the greatest ag-
riculturist in England, and friend of ill farmers. His heart is unquestionably in agriculture, and his knowledge •s both considerable and practical. “England’s loss is New Zealand’s , min,” Air Whitley added. “You cannot give him too much agriculture. He just revels in it.” Mr J. J. Cridlan, the eminent Eng'ish breeder of Aberdeen Angus cattle, knows Lord Bledisloe very well. “He : s extremely -earnest where agriculture ; s concerned, and I should -say his knowledge will be of very great help to this country,” lie said.
