BLOODLESS REVOLUTION

A RAGGED ARMY

(Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 26.

Advices from Santo Domingo state one of the most picturesque, yet bloodless revolutions in Latin American hist«.’y occurred to-day when the revolutionary army of 60,000 Dominican Republican peasants in ragged trousers and shorts took possession of the capital and forced the Governors to negotiate a settlement of their grievances. As the ragged army lounged about the town discussion was held at tlie Presidential Palace between President Yusquez and the commander of the rebel army, who arrived in a patchwork uniform. The principal interest centres in the fact that no blood has yet been spilled.
