TWO MEN DROWNED

CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 24
Two men wore drowned in the AVaimakariri river near Brooklands yesterday, named . Fisher and AlcLenaghaip where they were trawling for flounders when a storm came up and waves knocked 'them over, A third man escaped. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 24.
The names of the men drowned in the AVaimakariri were John AlcLenaghtin, 57, married, of 14 Somerfield Street. Spreyilon, and Hurtle Fisher, 55, married, of 371 River Road, Richmond. Both were returning to Brooklands from Kairaki in a tin punt, after trawling, when waves sank the vessel. A son, D. AlcLenaghan. and I). Bassett reached the shore safely in another boat and returned but could not locate the victims.
