Mr Fenton was given audience by the King. Both he and Mr AAilford expressed the opinion that bis Majesty looked very fit. The latter remarked that the King’s knowledge of New Zealand affairs was amazing.

MOSCOAY, Feb. 19
A. mass meeting of postal workers or Kieff decided not to deliver telegrams, letters or parcels to persons in Holy Orders. A similar boycott is being arranged in other cities. Likewise a refusal to print religious matter.
SIR ESME HOWARD

Sir Esme Howard, for six years British Ambassador, said farewell to the Capitol to-day. He is leaving on Friday for London, ending an official career spanning lorty-ciglit years.
MAN EATING TIGER

Villagers of Bihar and village of Align,l,. almost smothered with garlands Wright Neville, Superintendent of the Police, who shot a well known and much feared man eating tiger, which had killed many humans and established a. reign of terror. When the huge beast was opened, a complete human foot was found inside, while the tiger was marked by a gash inflicted by an axe by his latest victim.

Advices from China to British official circles suggest that armies are now marching under Feng and Chiang. Tt is not easy to ascertain wluit is hapvening, lint it is rumoured that something pretty serious is in the wind.
CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
LONDON, Feb. 19
Le«c#ng f cm'mists bitterly oppose the suggestion of the Prison Governor, cabled yesterday, that women should not he hanged, they demanding sex equality at the gallows as well as clsewnerc. II hanging continues, they say. women must accept the same penalty as men. They cannot admit chivalry in this regard.
