New Zealand hatted first, ard made 188 (James 42, Lowry 33, McGirr 32), and Auckland replied with 64 and 88 for threfo wickets. Bowling for New Zealand, H. Roy, a Ponsonby Club player; secured' a.'fine average in Auckland’s first -innings of six wickets for eleven runs.
