RESULT OF INSPECTION

‘‘Generally speaking, 1 found things very satisfactory,” said the Commissioner of Police (Mr W. B. Mcllveliey) to-day, when asked to comment on his recent tour of the police stations in the North Island.
Air Alcllveney returned to Wellington on Friday evening, after an absence of fifteen days. During that time, he visited Wanganui, Raetihi, Tokaanu, Taupo, Rotorua/ Putaruru, Cambridge, Hamilton, Auckland, Te Kuiti, Alokau, New Plymouth, and other Taranaki towns, and Palmerston North.
Travelling by motor, Commissioner Alcllveney was able to make the trip with a minimum of delay. He inspected the .stations and equipment, and when the men paraded before him, he invited them to make suggestions and to bring to his notice any complaints they might have to make. “I am very proud to say that, during the whole of inv tour, I did not receive one single complaint.” Commissioner Alcllveney ha,s yet C’ visit the stations in the Napier and Gisborne districts, and those in the South Island.
