SIR ESME HOWARD. (United Press Association—By Electrio telegraph—Copyright). (Received this dnv at 12.25. P.m ' OTTAWA, January 28. In an interview to-day, Sir Esme Howard said lie did not think United States tariff affected British people to any great extent. For the most part, British exports to the Republic constituted an article of a highly specialised nature which did not conflict with domestic activities. The British factory did not compete in United States with the American -factory. He said he noted a great 'improvement in AngloAmerican relations. Howard is the guest of the Governor-General on a farewell trip to Canada prior to returning to England.
