RAIN BREAKS DROUGHT
VALUED AT MILLIONS. (Australian Press Association). (Received this day at 10 a.in.' SYDNEY, Jan. 25. Floods and heavy general rain east of Dowling river, are predicted by the State meteorologist. Western districts have benefited incalculably in the last two days’ rain. Further downpours are likely. As a result Barwon river is flooding, also a. cyclone is developing about tne central coast. The rain has lilted the outback depression and huge sums will be 'Saved in fodder alone. The drought lias definitely broken in Western Queensland, 23 stations having reported rain where a seven years’ drought had been experienced. The railway bridge over Cion curry River is washed away. The river is a raging torrent. Graziers say the rain is worth millions.
