TE AWANMUTA, January 20. The Coroner Mr Wyvern Wlson, S. M., continued the inquest to-day into the death of Daniel McKay Seton, who died at Waikato Hospital on December 18th. After hearing the evidence of Susanna Muldoon, boarding house keep and Doctor Hiskens, a verdict was returned of death from acute dilation, of the stomach, induced , by excessive consumption of alcohol. This verdict is' in accordance with the evidence of medical officer who conducted a post mortem examnation. DEATH FROM INJURIES. GISBORNE, Jan. 20. George Nelson, aged 28, married, injured in tho motor accident at Matawhero yesterday died in the hospital at midnight. THEFT CHARGE. DUNEDIN, Jan. 20. At the Police Court Donald Stuart McLean pleaded guilty to stealing £lO the property of the Combined Railway Picnic Association. The police gave evidence that when called upon to hand oyer the money which defendant received in his position as secretary of the association, which he had' held for three years, accused was unable to do so, but restitution was made later. . Defendant was married and was formerly on the railway. He was in bad health and used the association’s funds when a tradesman pressed him. He was admitted to twelve months probation.
