DOUBLE TRAGEDY
OAR KILLS AIOTOR CYCLISTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association). ) PALMERSTON N., Jan. 19. A doubh tragedy occurred about 7.29 on Saturday evening at the junction of No. 4 line and the Rangitikei dine, forty .miles from Palmerston North, when Hector Clarence Eggleton (28), the rider of a, light motor cycle, with Bertram Cecil Hazelhurst (aged 31) on the pillion, both residents of Runnythorpe, v ere killed outright when their .machine was struck broadside on by a heavy car, driven by Bacho Right Harvey, of Waverley, a farmer, who had Arthur Ernest Roy Jobliu, school teach-l er of Palmerston as a passenger. The victims were riding home alter haymaking work, and they were ,'in the middle of the intersection .when the car met them, ..parrying them about a chain.
Both men sustained head, injuries which were instantly fatal. r>
