political scandal mongers arc disappointed to learn that they are deprived of a real cause 1 celebre, namely the action which recently started for the recovery of a large sum, which U plaintiff alleged was paid into the Conservative Party funds, in anticipation of honours. It has now been withdrawn.
There is, however, no information as to how the affair was adjusted.
