A meeting of the Executive' was held at the County Chambers at 4 o’clock. Present: Mi* I). J. Evans Bevels Knowles-Smith and Nela7hWright (Vue-Presidents), Messrs VV. Sweney, G. H. Coles, J. Oonnife. Apologies were received from Mess® ii. Osmers and T. W. Duff. *

The formal business being' disposed of, cor ref penile nee regarding judges for the next Competitions was considered. The following appointments were agifetid to:— Mr Arthur Lilly,, A .it. C.S., Christchurch, musical judge; Mr Barton Ginger 'Wellington, elocutionary judge; Miss Muriel Waugh, ChristA church, dancing judge. P

The dates selected were**Bth. to 15th. ‘ May next, inclusive, providing for two . N demonstration concerts.

The President. Secretary, and Revds Wright and Smith were appointed a. sub-committee to revise the rules and conditions affecting the Competitions, and also the classes for competition, and arrange with the judges to set the test selections. "

Tile Chairman was empowered to arrange for the engagement of the halls. It was decided to issue, in addition.' to the Book of Words, a catalogue of entries with the complete programme for the festival. Two small accounts were passed for payment. It was decided to fix the annual meeting of subscribers and members for Friday, 7th. February at 7.30 o’clock, when the annual balance sheet will lie submitted and officers elected foit the year.
