VALEDICTORY
A very pleasant function took place at Arnhura last Friday evening when some of the many friends of Miss Lui Maloney assembled to say mi revoir on. the eve of her departure for Wellington. Air E. Cook presided and said how sorry one and all were that she is departing from their midst, but supposed it could not be helped, and wished her every success for the future. He asked her to accept, as a token of their esteem and good fellowship, a silver mounted cut glass perfume bottle and a box of fancy soap; also from Mi’s Cropper and family, a clothes brush.' -Mr Maloney replifefp thanking them all for their expression of good will; During the evening that was spent in ganfes v and dancing, Mrff Brosnahan sang and an encore followed. Mf George also sang'and was encored. A dainty supper was handed around. The evening ended with the singing of Aulcl Lang Syne.
