At the Southland races at the conclusion of the last race, an enquiry l was held into the running of Lucky Light, compared with her running in | the Waihopai Handicap on the first j day, when she was not placed. After hearing evidence, the Judicial Com- , mittee unanimously resolved that the owner’s explanation be accepted. While the inquiry was in progress, a section of the crowd staged a do- j monstration of protest, and remained on the course until the inquiry had concluded.
