TRIPLE TRAGEDY
WOMAN AND CHILDREN FOUND. DROWNED. fßy Telegraph, Per Press Association,] NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 3. A triple drowning tragedy occurred at Oeo, in. South .Taranaki, tin's afternoon. The victims were Mrs D Zimmerman, aged about 40 years, and her two boys, one aged 3 years, and the other aged only six months. The bodies of the boys were found in a creek about a chain from Mr Zimmerman’s farmhouse, and Mrs Zimmerman’s body was discovered floating in a small dam sixty chains away. Mr Zimmerman, who had been sharemilking for Mr Charles Mugeridge, left the house about 10 a.m. with his brother for Mugeridge’s otßcr farm. On their return, the house was seen to be empty, and there was no sign of the midday meal having been prepared. Tho husband’s fears were aroused, on his rcmembeiing previous statements by his wife. A search was immediately made, and the bodies of the children vx-rc found, -cold, being both in the shallow water, where there was 'evidence of a strugge for life. Pursuing the search, the men found Mrs Zimmerman’s body in'the dam which is used for driving the. Hulking plant.
