A meeting of Hie Committee of the Westland Pacing Club will he held at 8.30 o’clock on .Monday evening at .Mclntosh’s Club Rooms.

Airs Tibbies, received anything in the nature of serious injuries. It is understood that the accident was caused by a defect in the steering gear.

There will he a representative cricket match at the Mental Hospital grounds to-morrow when a Christchurch eleven will play the Southern Division representatives. The team includes some of Canterbury’s first eleven players, and also J. Newman, the English professional, who is coaching in Canterbury. The play v ill commence at 11 o’clock.

The weather yesterday was a startling reverse to that of Boxing Day.
