WHALE CHASERS SUNK
REPORT FROM ANTARCTIC. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.j DUNEDIN, Dec. 25. News received in Dunedin by wireless indicates that two of tbe whale chasers attached to factory ships operating in the southern latitudes were so badly crushed in the ice-pack that they foundered. The report is believed to be authentic, but a good deal of reticience is being maintained in respect to the details The names of tbe chasers are nor known, nor the particular company to which they belong. It is reliably reported, however, that the crews were rescued by the whaling factory .ships, which were just ahead of the smaller vessels. The ice-pack is said to be very heavy this year, but whales are plentiful and good catches are reported.
