MOTORIST KILLED
COLLISION WITH TRAIN. (By Telegraph—Frees Association). INVERCARGILL, Dec. 25. At about 6.5() p.m. on Tuesday, Alexander Robert Nicol, chiropractor, of Invercargill, accompanied by his wife, was driving a car along the West Plains road towards Invercargill when at the railway crossing at West Plains he came into collision with the Kingston train. The car was thrown on to the cattle stop, a. distance of 30 feet. Nicol,’ who received very serious injuries about the head, was unconscious when picked up by tbe train driver, who brought both Nicol and bis wife to town. Nicol, however, succumbed about 10.39 p.m. without regaining eonseiousnes. Mrs Nicol, although slightly injured and suffering from shock, was able to proceed to her home.
