TRADE RESTRICTIONS
REMOVAL BY POWERS. [United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Cop3’right.j PARIS, Dee. 21. Britain is amongst twenty-five nations that are represented at a conference here at which a Convention for the abolishing of the import arid export restrictions imposed as the result of the war and post war conditions, has been signed. The pact becomes effective on first of January but the signatories are not bound to remove all of the restrictions until July. The countries may withdraw if those whose participation they regard as essential do not join. Britain, the United States and six others have signified their unconditional willingness to remove all of the restricitions, which must not be confused with tariffs, but are restricitions in the nature of quotas, embargoes and other obstacles to trade.
