BABIES DESERTED
BY ALLIED SOLDIERS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). BERLIN, Dec. 21. The newspaper ‘•Tagebueh” is demanding that the German Delegation at The Hague in the January Conference on Reparations should propose that the Young Plan be revised to provide an appropriation for the maintenance of the Occupation Area babies. It is claimed that there are fifteen thousand children in the Rhineland whose fathers were the soldiers of the Allied occupations. It is pointed out that these children should not be allowed to grow up with embittered feelings towards their enemy fathers. The “Tagebueh” says oven the forthright Mr Snowdon could not bluntly refuse to reduce Germany’s burdens in favour of these childro” who owe their existence to the affection of German girls towards occupation soldiers.” The Women’s Clubs in the Rhineland are also demanding that Britain and Franco should allot funds for the support of these Occupation babies.
