DUNEDIN, November 28
At the Supreme Court, Joseph Campbell Scott, 40, an Imperial Army veteran of M,ons retreat, who was a prisoner of war in Germany and Russia for -I years was admitted to probation for 2 years, on a charge of breaking and entering at Oamarn. Counsel stated Scott came to New Zealand in 1920 with an unblemished war and civil record. lie had suffered many privations in prison camps, and his wound still troubled him. His offence was a stupid one, he while in liquor breaking into a ifriend’s house and stealing a torch and eight ancient coins. It was suggested that Scott should return to Scotland and some kindly people were making arrangements in that respect.
