[United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.,—Copyright.]
(Received this day at noon.)
LONDON. Nov. 14,
Concerning Australia’s GovernorGeneral, it is unofficially mentioned that General Bird wood recently agreed to three months’ extension of the term in India, till the end of November 3930, to meet the convenience of his successor, so there would he a substantial hiatus if he accepted the Australian office.
Regarding the talk of a local appointee it is pointed out in official quarters that there is no likelihood of a departure from the ruling of Hon Amery, that the appointment of Gov-ernor-General is under, the Crown, to which the Commonwealth could make representation, when the list of eligibles is being considered.,
