EX-PREMIER BRUCE

GUEST OF SYDNEY FRIENDS,

(Australian Press Association)

SYDNEY; Nov. 13

Mr Stanley Bruce, the former Federal Prime Minister, was entertained at lunch by representatives of commercial, industrial, professional and other sections of the community. Many speeches in his honour were made, and splendid tributes were paid to him as a statesman of broad, national ideals. The hope was freely expressed that he would return to public life after he enjoyed a rest. Mr Bruce, replying, said he would he glad to come back to politics if the people desired that he should do so. He added that if his successors succeeded in restoring prosperity to Australia, then the loss of his political Party would not matter much.
