FIRE AT REEFTON
A fire took place at' Mr T. R. Watson’s, Crushington, about 1.30 o’clock on Monday morning, by which his residence was totally destroyed. The fire was discovered by Mr Len Watson, who was awakened by the glare of the fire, and it was found that the flames had a firm hold of the building, and as no water.; service was available to extinguish the flames, ail efforts were directed to saving what little they-could. An attempt was made to recover the piano, but the roof falling in, this had to be abandoned, and Mr Len Watson had to make his escape by a window. The flames spread to the-dairy, and this was also demolished,' and of the whole of the buildings only the brick chimneys remain standing; The loss is a very severe one for Mr Wiitson, and he will have the sympathy'of all in> his misfortune.
