Other measures having failed, the Federal Government proposes to, invoke the provisions of the Industrial Peace Act -in an attempt to settle the coal, dispute, y According to an announcement by Air Scullin the Act is one the Bruce Government proposed to' abolish under the Alaritiine Industries Bill. Mr Soallin indicated that every legal and constitutional means would be explor ed in an endeavour to end the trouble. The first step will be to convene a compulsory conference of employers and employees. It 'is learned that the 20th November is fixed as the opening date for the new Commonwealth Parliament. There will be no elaborate ceremonial.
