MAGISTRATE’S COURT
GREYMOUTH, Oct.' 22 " •' At the Magistrate’s Court yesterday the licensee of the; Goldqn Eagle Hotel, was fined .CTand costs and the barman £2 and costs for breach of the Licensing Act. D. S. Williams'' uvas fined 5s and costs for not stopping his motor car at a compulsory stop at a railway crossing near Brunner. Walter Henry Mulroy, a young man, on a charge of attempting suicide at Geymouth on 19tli October was fined 10s and costs.
Albert Fair hall, florist, claimed from the Greymouth Bowling Club the sum of £27, on the grounds that plaintiff, being the servant of the defendant club at the wage of £9O ,per year;-;-:pq.yhble monthly, was wrongfully dismissed oil 3Cth June, 1929, during the current year of service. Wages amounting, to £63 had been paid, and plaintiff claimed the balance £27 in lieu of notice. Lengthy evidence was heard, at the conclusion cf which the Magistrate reserved his decision until Friday next.
