Captain Gilligan, in an interview here, said that the Alarylebone Club’s cricket team which is proceeding to Australia and New Zealand, is fit and well. There were four, fast bowlers, and. the hatting was good. He expected ’ the team to do well in. New Zealand. They stood the voyage well. A'match was played against Ceylon. Tliiei scores were:— All Ceylon scored 171 for nine wickots declared. Albert made 72 and Waldock 29. In the howling, Allom took 5 for 36, Nichols 1 for 36, Worthington 1 for 17 and AVoolley 1 for 36. A'I.C.C. scored 110 for five wickets, Woolley making 18, Duleepsinhji 18, Dawson 14, Worthington 22, and •Earle 30 (not out).
SYDNEY MATCHES. SYDNEY, October 20. In yesterday’s grade cricket, playing for Northern District against Western Suburbs, Thomas made 72 (not out). Bowling for St. George against North Sydney, The,ak took 6 for .22 and 6 for 38. For Paddington against: Waycrley, Bettjngton took 5 for 13; for Waverley, Wall took 7 for 63; for Glebe against Marrickville, Jordan took 5 for ,19.
